Celina Perez Villaverde Kaiser is a Melbourne trained and based Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon.

Celina obtained her primary medical degree at the Universidad de Mendoza in Argentina in 2007. Whilst as an advanced medical student, she won a scholarship to rotate through the trauma department at Hospital Lozano Blesa in Zaragoza, Spain.

After completing medical school, she worked in acute care settings both in Argentina and in the United States of America, here she met her, now, husband and the reason why she migrated to Australia.

In Australia, Celina sat the rigorous Australian Medical Council examinations, in what she describes today as the “toughest exam of my medical career”, she obtained the second highest ranking amongst over 400 international doctors that sat the examination. After validating her medical license, she obtained an internship position at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and here she discovered her passion for Vascular Surgery.

Celina completed her Postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy through The University of Melbourne in 2011 and gained entry into the Vascular Surgery training programme in 2013, sitting her fellowship exam in 2018.  During surgical training, she commenced her higher degree through the University of Edinburgh and was awarded a Masters of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery with Distinction.

Celina is skilled in classical open vascular surgery as well as minimally invasive endovascular techniques.

She has an interest in the management of lower limb ulcers, arterial reconstruction and management of venous disease, aneurysmal disease, carotid disease and stroke prevention, and surgery for dialysis access.

Known for her sincerity and strong work ethics, her patient’s best interests are at the core of everything she does. Celina prides herself on her ability to understand her patients and their priorities. She believes in taking the time to listen to her patients and explain their options so they can make an informed choice about the management of their condition.

Celina works in the public sector, with appointments at Western Health and St Vincent’s Hospital and in the private sector, she is accredited to work at Western Private Hospital, John Fawkner Hospital and St Vincent’s Private.

Dr Dominic Chow Cardiologist

Dr Dominic completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, followed by specialist training in Cardiology in Melbourne. He undertook further sub-specialist training in electrophysiology and cardiac devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

Dr Dominic holds an honorary clinical lecturer position at the University of Melbourne. He was a recipient of National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) postgraduate scholarship and a Heart Foundation research grant for his higher postdoctoral degree.

His clinical focus includes pacing techniques and the use of cardiac devices in the management of heart blocks and cardiomyopathies.

Dr Dominic provides consultations aimed at supporting patient understanding of heart health and works with patients to develop management plans that consider their individual needs.

An academic at heart, Dominic strives to have his patients leave each consultation session with a better understanding of their heart health. Cardiology can be complex, and what patients value most from Dominic is the ability to explain key concepts in an easy-to-digest manner, which ultimately affords them a clearer appreciation of their health. Management plans with Dominic are almost always collaborative and patient-focused, never didactic.

Dr Paul Dowie

Dr. Paul Dowie, founder of Foot and Leg pain Clinics, has been working in podiatric medicine, specifically in the areas of Sports and Musculoskeletal Podiatry, for 25 years. His specific expertise is in assisting: pain and injuries, degenerative and arthritic concerns,
children’s growth and development conditions.

He has been the chosen Podiatrist for some of the World’s Best Athletes, including 8 of the World’s #1 Tennis Players, many of the World’s best Golfers, members of the Australian Cricket team, Australian Taekwondo Team and numerous Olympic Gold Medallists.
However, what he enjoys day to day is helping people of all ages and lifestyles to alleviate pain, discomfort and injury so they can lead healthy, active lives.

Paul completed an honours degree at Monash University before specialising in Sports and Musculoskeletal Podiatry at Latrobe University. He has vast clinical experience treating and teaching all facets of Podiatry Medicine from Sports Medicine to Musculoskeletal Medicine, Paediatric to Geriatric Care and is specialised in managing degenerative conditions such as
arthritis and joint pain. Paul is also an experienced Regenerative Medicine practitioner (Prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich-Plasma).

He assists with common lower limb conditions such as: foot, leg, knee and hip pain; injuries, heel pain and plantar fasciitis, bursitis, tendonitis, bunions, shin and achilles tendon conditions, joint and soft tissue injuries.

Dr Phillip Wong

Dr Phillip Wong is an endocrinologist and a  graduate of the University of Melbourne. He completed his specialist training in endocrinology at The Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney), St Vincent’s Hospital (Sydney) and Monash Health (Melbourne).

Phillip has a PhD (Monash University) in the area of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease with a strong clinical, research and academic focus in this area. He is affiliated wth Monash Health where he works as an endocrinologist; and the Hudson Institute of Medical Research as a research officer. Dr Wong was awarded the Bryan Hudson Clinical Endocrinology Award in 2014 from the Endocrine Society of Australia in recognition of his research in bone disease. He regularly attends national and international conferences in endocrinology and has multiple publications in international journals.

Dr Wong is also highly experienced in treating diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and female and male specific hormone problems.

Phillip believes in a holistic approach to medical care and engages with his patients and their general practitioners to achieve the best medical outcomes.

Mr Dinesh Agarwal

Dinesh Agarwal came to Melbourne in 1994 after completing his Urology Fellowship in India. He worked as a Fellow at Royal Melbourne Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital and Monash Medical Centre to broaden his experience. He was awarded the FRACS in the Speciality of Urology in 1999.

He is a senior Urologist with extensive experience in Urology. He has invented various Urological surgical procedures and has published many papers. He has a special interest in prostate cancer, renal cancer, BPH, stone disease and urethral stricture disease.

In April of 2004, he underwent training in Robotic surgery at the University of California, Irvine, before starting Robotic Radical Prostatectomy at the Epworth hospital, Richmond .Dr Agarwal has an extensive experience in various laparoscopic procedures. He has been performing various laparoscopic procedures for more than 20 years. He has been involved in developing various new techniques in laparoscopic surgery and has published many papers in international journals.

He performs various surgical procedures including Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy, Laparoscopic Nephrectomy, Green Light Laser prostate surgery and Urethroplasty.

 

Dr Adrian Chazan

Dr Chazan is a Respiratory & Sleep Physician, and General Physician. Born in Melbourne, he undertook his basic medical training at the University of Melbourne. With a passion for sleep and breathing, he trained at world-renowned centres of excellence in Melbourne and Sydney, including Westmead Hospital, the Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. Adrian has been involved in research activities in the fields of sleep apnoea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and exercise physiology.

Adrian utilises the latest findings in sleep research as well as the emerging technologies in diagnosis and treatment. He takes a patient-centred approach to medical care with the aim of empowering his patients to achieve better sleep and optimal long-term health outcomes.

My name is Rob Thomas and I am a qualified Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck (ENT) Surgeon.

I completed my undergraduate training at Melbourne University and my Residency at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Subsequently, I joined the ENT Head & Neck Training Programme as a Registrar at the Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital.

I qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and subsequently took up positions to do further training in London (at the Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital) and in Toronto, Canada (the Hospital for Sick Children).

I returned to Melbourne to commence practice with an appointment at the Alfred Hospital.  I continue to be an Emeritus Consultant Surgeon at the Alfred Hospital.

I have Medical Rooms at Williamstown and at Cabrini Medical Centre in Malvern.

My interests include both paediatric and adult ENT problems.

Surgery performed includes adeno-tonsillectomy and grommets.  Sino-nasal surgery, including septoplasty, rhinoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery.
